Résumé

"En janvier 2010, une série de newsreels inédites, produits par l’Office of War Information pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, intègre la collection des archives Prelinger. Le premier de ces films, intitulé The Freed Zone, retrace la prise du Muy par le 509th Parachute Infantry Battalion durant le débarquement de Provence. Sandy Amerio, fascinée par ce morceau d’Histoire de la propagande américaine désormais libre de droits, fait appel à un studio de colorisation californien. Grâce à une toute nouvelle technologie algorithmique capable d'identifier les limites des zones complexes, le film original est restauré. "Dragooned" vous propose un voyage immersif au cœur de cette réactualisation de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, en suivant la progression des soldats du 509th PIB, sur les terres inexplorées et hostiles de l’Histoire vivante." "‘In January 2010, a series of previously unreleased newsreels, produced by the Office of War Information during World War Two, was included in the Prelinger Archives Collection. The first film, called The Freed Zone, recounts the storming of Le Muy by the 509th Parachute Infantry Battalion during the Provence landings. Fascinated with this now royalty-free piece of US propaganda history, Sandy Amerio called in a colorization studio based in California.
