À travers les témoignages de ceux qui le connaissent et ont travaillé avec lui, mais aussi de ceux qui l’exploitent, le traquent, le réclament… Banksy Most Wanted dresse un portrait de ce justicier masqué. Chacune de ces enquêtes nous fait découvrir une facette de l’artiste : son engagement pour les causes environnementales ou les réfugiés politiques, ses liens avec la scène musicale, son côté chef d’entreprise.
Ce film interroge aussi le fantasme de l’anonymat dans notre société. Par son absence, Banksy crée le désir et soulève les débats. Les icônes doivent-elles toujours avoir un nom et un visage ?
